La fine degli anni '60 per l'industria motociclistica europea segnò l'inizio di uno dei periodi meno felici, complice l'arrivo sui nostri mercati delle motociclette giapponesi. Gli inglesi puntarono su un propulsore a tre cilindri e alla fine del 1968, la Triumph presentò la sua ammiraglia, la T150 meglio conosciuta come Trident, 750 cc di cilindrata. I produttori curarono a dovere anche l'aspetto sportivo ed agonistico. La Trident, enormemente potenziata nella versione corsa, grazie al Direttore Tecnico Doug Hele ed al telaio progettato e costruito da Rob North, seppe ben figurare in gara. La moto proposta in asta è un esemplare del 1969 dota- to di un telaio Rob North con motore potenziato e cilindrata portata a 830 cc. Condotta dall'attuale proprietario, ha ottenuto brillanti risultati nella Classe Open del Campionato Nazionale Vintage ed è perfettamente funzionante. Un classico della scuola motociclistica anglosassone, da acquistare e con cui divertirsi nelle gare Vintage grazie alle prestazioni assolute. ENGLISH: For the European motorcycle industry, the end of the 1960s can be regarded as the start of one of its less fortunate periods because it was the time the Japanese motorcycles began arriving on our markets. The British focused on an engine with a three-cylinder configuration, and at the end of 1968 Triumph un- veiled its flagship T 150 engine (750 cc), better known as Trident. The manufacturers also paid great attention to the sporting and competitive features. The Trident motorbike greatly enhanced in the racing version thanks to the attentions of chief engineer Doug Hele and the adoption of a frame designed and built by Rob North. The motorcycle offered for sale was built in 1969 with a Rob North frame, an enhanced engine, and its displacement increased to 830 cc. Ridden by its present owner, it has achieved brilliant results in the Open Class of the National Vintage Championship and is perfectly running.
